I got this idea from watching Samyal Samyal by chef Venkatesh bhat.He prepared this cock tail idlies using curry leaves powder for green colored idlies,Idly podi for red colored idlies.

PEAS MASALA DOSAI

I always love to eat stuffed dosa.When I was a kid Masala dosa was my favorite dosa.

MASALA PORI

 

When ever I visit my mom's house my sweet brother would always buy my favourite snacks for me. In that list masala pori would be there.There

is no hard and fast rules for preparing this pori.

SPICY IDLY

Left over idlies can be turned into spicy idly fry.

VEGETABLE SALNA

        Salna is the best accompaniment for Parotta. I have tasted it for the first time in Madurai. The road side shops are the best for tasting Kothu Parotha with Salna This is the best combination.

YELLOW WATERMELON JUICE

I was surprised to see yellow water melon in Singapore.The bright yellow color made me tempt to buy it immediately.To beat the heat in this summer do try this simple juice.

GOBI PEAS CHAPATHI

         Recently when I watched Samayal Samayal by chef Venkatesh Bhat,he prepared this gobi peas chapathi. I wanted to try immediately because I usually prepare gobi chapathi,peas chapathi. I thought that this will be a good combo of mixing gobi&peas as a stuffing.

CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY

          Curry leaves chutney is a simple side dish which goes well with idly/dosai.Inspite of the benefits of curry leaves it is good to include in our food.

IDLY SAMBAR

 Idly and sambar is the best combo like Romeo and Juliet.I would prefer sambar rather than chutneys for Idly/dosai.Mini idly sambar tastes divine when topped with ghee

SENAI KIZHANGU CHIPS

When I bought whole Senai Kizhangu I used half of it for Senai Kizhangu curry and the other half was sitting for a quite long time.I was thinking to prepare this fry on seeing rak's kitchen.

DAL FRY WITH MOONG DAL

Dal fry can be prepared with moong dal or toor dal or combination of both the dals.A best side dish for chapathi/phulka.

MINT LEAVES CHUTNEY/PUDHINA CHUTNEY

I love the fresh flavour of mint/pudhina leaves.My hubby does not like mint leaves.He always says that some medicnal smell comes from mint leaves.If I prepare mint leaves chutney I have to eat all by myself.

       Idly is a staple food of South India.Left over idlies can be turned into idly upma,podi idly,chilly idly. I survived with idly and podi through out my college days.

SMALL ONION CHUTNEY

                                  Small Onion chutney is a tasty side dish for idly,.dosai.The toughest part is peeling the skin of small onions. Usually I will soak the small onions for 15 mins in water which will be easier for removing the skin. 

SENAI KIZHANGU CURRY

      
My mom never cooks Senai Kizhangu. But I have tasted in my hostel during college days. After my marriage when I started to cook I wanted to try my hands on Senai Kizhangu but my hubby was telling no. He was not even allowing me to pick this vegetable from the shop.

A refreshing summer drink to beat the heat. I have tasted this fruit and I felt it was so bland.So I immediately thought of making it into a juice. I have seen this fruit in green and light yellow color.

DAL KICHADI

Dal Kichadi is a one pot meal perfect for lunch box.It is very easy to prepare for lunch on lazy week ends. The taste will be inbetween  sambar sadam and pongal. The recipe will resemble that pongal is tempered with spices.

GOBI MATAR

       Gobi matar is a dry version which pairs well with roti.It can also be served with rice,dal tadka.You can also use aloo along with gobi,matar. Amchur powder is the secret ingredient which makes the dish very tasty.You can also add lemon juice instead of amchur powder

CURRY LEAVES KUZHAMBU

          Curry leaves kuzhambu is a tangy dish which pairs well with hot rice,idly,dosai. If you like tangy based dishes then this kuzhambu will be your favourite.The key is to balance the spicyness and tangyness. Small onions tastes great in this yummy kuzhambu.

SOYA CHUNKS CURRY

          I had tasted soya or meal maker only in biryani. I like to cook soya nuggets rather than the bigger one.Soya nuggets is very small so that the masalas gets incorporated well.It is a quite filling breakfast/dinner when wrapped as a frankie.

CARROT HALWA / GAJAR KA HALWA

      I prepared this sweet for Valentine's day. You can treat your valentine with this yummy sweet .It is very simple to prepare. Carrot Halwa does not require more ghee like other halwas. It tastes great with a scoop of Vannila ice cream.

OATS OOTHAPPAM

     Nowdays people prefer Oats for a healthy diet.Since rice is high in calories it is being replaced by oats,millets.When you get bored of your regular breakfast do try this yummy and healthy Oats oothappam.

EXPRESSO COFFEE

          Coffee lovers will surely love EXPRESSO COFFEE. It can be made easily at home with minimal ingredients.For me coffee is a must in the morning otherwise head ache will start immediately.

CABBAGE PORIYAL

                    The most hated vegetable which I avoid to cook is cabbage because of the smell. But now I add ginger to remove the smell of Cabbage. This is a simple & healthy poriyal. Cabbage is rich in Vitamin C.

CARROT PEAS CHAPATHI

        Carrot Peas Chapathi is a nice way to include vegetables in our diet. You can also follow the method of stuffing in wheat flour but I prepared by mixing the stuffing in the wheat flour.

RAGDA PATTIES

           Ragda patties is a famous street food item in Mumbai. Ragda patties is nothing but a shallow fried potato patties dunked in a plate of Peas curry topped with Sweet chutney,Green chutney and garnished with finely chopped Onion,Tomato,Coriander leaves.
