I love Vadai along with hot tea especially Paruppu vadai. Madurai is famous for vadai and in every street you can find a tea stall selling different types of vadai. We can taste all types of vadai like keerai vadai, methu vadai, masal vadai. They serve hot vadai along with chutney. My hubby loves beetroot vadai alot.
INGREDIENTS
CHANNA DHAL

CHOPPED ONION

STEP BY STEP PICTURES
Soak Channa & Toor Dhal for 2 hrs.
In a mixie jar add Red chilly,Sombu,Salt,Asafoetida. Grind it Then add the dhals and grind it to a coarse paste.
Mix Dhal mixture,chopped corainder,Gratted beetroot,onions.
Heat oil in a kadai.Take small amount of the beetroot mixture & flatten it into vadai shape.Drop it into the oil and keep the flame in medium.Fry until it turns golden brown.
Serve hot. Enjoy with Hot tea/coffee.
NOTES
- After soaking the dhals,You can a take out 1 Tsp of it and reserve it. So that while making vadai you can mix in it , while frying you can see the dhals blinking at you.
- Curry leaves can also be used.
