
         Oats Idly is a slightly modified version of Rava idly. But it is good to start a day with a healthy break fast. Nowdays Oats is used  in everyday diet either as Breakfast or Dinner.
I used white Rava along with Oats, but it can also be replaced with wheat rava for a  healthier version.

STEP BY STEP PICTURES

In a kadai dry roast the oats until a nutty aroma comes out.
Similarly dry roast the rava .

When it cools down, powder it finely.

In a kadai heat oil & add the items given under " To Temper" table.
Then add the Grated carrot,Green chilly,Ginger.

Mix the powdered Oats,Rava,Tempered mixture also.

Add Salt,Curd.

Mix Lemon juice,Water & bring it to the consistency of Idly batter.Let it rest for 10 mins.

Add Baking soda/Eno fruit salt. Give a quick stir. After adding the Baking soda/eno fruit salt do not let the batter to rest. Transfer immediately to idly plates.

Steam it for 10 mins.

Serve hot.

Enjoy with Chutney.

You can use any vegetables while tempering.


If you skip Baking Soda/Eno fruit salt you will not get soft porous texture.
