PEANUT CHUTNEY

        I have never tasted peanut chutney before.This is my first  experience. When I was surfing sharmi's blog I had  a thought of preparing this immediately. Those who love ground nuts will never say no to this chutney.

INGREDIENTS

PEANUTS
½ Cup
BIG ONION
1
RED CHILLY
3
TAMARIND
1 Tbsp
SALT
To Taste
OIL
2 Tsp
MUSTARD,URAD DHAL
½ Tsp
CURRY LEAVES (OPTIONAL)
Few
ASAFOETIDA
A Pinch

Dry roast the peanut until nice aroma comes out.Roast till brown spots appear on it. Remove the skin & keep aside.

In a kadai add oil saute the onions,red chilly,tamarind,salt. Cool down & add peanuts and grind it.

Grind it to a smooth paste.

Temper with mustard seeds,urad dhal.curry leaves,asafoetida.
It goes well with hot idly/dosai.
NOTES
  • If you like garlic flavour you can add it while sauting it.
  • If you like coconut you can add it
