I usually make Raw banana/vazhakkai as a dry curry or podimas. I wanted to try this one for a long time with freshly grounded spices. It goes well with rasam. Do give a try and I am sure you will love it.

STEP BY STEP PICTURES
Peel the skin of raw banana. Spilt them length wise & slice them into pieces. Soak them in the water or you can take the water which we used to soak rice (arisi mandi).
Take coconut,dry red chilly,pepper,jeera,garlic,coriander powder in a mixie jar.
Add little water & grind it to a coarse paste.
In a kadai heat oil & add the items given under the " to temper " table. Slice the onion length wise and fry till it turns pink.
Now pour the grounded paste. Add Turmeric powder,Salt.
Add the sliced raw banana.
Mix together both the grounded paste & raw banana.
Pour 1/2 Cup of water.
Cover it with a lid.
Cook till water evaporates. Keep in medium flame. Stir continuosly until the masala coats well.
Granish with corainder leaves.
Transfer to serving bowl.
If you like coconut oil it can be added at last.
