
Usually I make kootu with Moong dhal. For a varation do try this kootu with channa dhal.

STEP BY STEP PICTURES

In a mixie jar take coconut,green chilly,Jeera. Grind it.

Add little water to make it a smooth paste.

Soak Channa dhal in water for 10 mins.

In a bowl add Chow Chow,Channa Dhal. Place it in a pressure cooker & keep it for 2 - 3 whistles. Do not add water to the chow chow.

If you add water kootu will be watery.

In a Kadai heat oil,add mustard seeds,asafoetida,onions.Fry till it turns pink.

Now add the cooked Chow chow to it.

Pour the grounded paste to it.

Allow this to boil for 5 mins.

Switch off the flame.

Transfer to a serving bowl.
