Put the tomatoes in hot boiling water for 5 - 10 mins.

Wash the tomatoes in running water. Peel the outer skin of tomatoes.

Place all the  peeled tomatoes in a bowl.

Mash all the tomatoes.

I used the ready made coconut milk. If you are using coconut , extract first & second milk.

I diluted it by adding little water for thin milk.

Heat oil add mustard seeds. Slice the onions length wise & fry till it turns pink. Then add the green chillies.

Add the mashed tomatoes.

Now add Sambar powder,turmeric powder,Salt.

Add thin coconut milk.

Bring it to boiling stage.

Now add thick coconut milk.

Boil it until oil seperates & thick consistency is reached.

Transfer to a serving bowl.

It goes well with Chappati/Roti.

It goes well with Chappati/Roti.

Tangy,Spicy Thakkali kulambu is ready.

Taste divine with Hot Steaming Rice.
NOTES
You should add more Green chillies to balance the Tangyness of tomatoes.
