AMMINI KOZHUKATTAI

       There are many ways of preparing this Kozhukattai. You can also use the Ulundhu pooranam (stuffing) for making this Kozhukattai. This is a tasty evening snack.

INGREDIENTS 

RICE FLOUR
1 Cup
COCONUT
2 Tbsp
IDLY MILAGAI PODI
2 Tsp
MUSTARD SEEDS,URAD DHAL
¼ Tsp
CHANNA DHAL
¼ Tsp
WATER
1 ¼ Cup
SALT
To Taste
OIL
1 Tsp

Boil water by adding salt,oil.

Take the rice flour in a wide bowl.

Add water little by little to the rice flour.

Mix together to form a smooth consistency.Add little oil on the outer surface of the dough to avoid dryness. Keep covered with moist cloth.

Grease your hands with little oil and make small balls & place it in the greased idly plate.

Stem it in Idly pot for 8 - 10 mins. If you steam more than 10 mins, Kozhukattai will become rubbery.

In a Kadai heat oil & add Mustard seeds,Urad dhal,Channa dhal.

Remove the kozhukattai from the idly plates. (You can see a shiny glow on your kozhukattai).

Add the Kozhukattai,Idly Milagai Podi,Salt (if needed).

Sprinkle the coconut & mix well.

Transfer to serving bowl.

NOTES
You can use red chilly powder instead of Idly milagi podi.
